Next Chapter

Almost 16 years to the day that I first opened the door at Metro Productions I closed it today for the final time. From Grip to Producer/Director to Account Executive to Director of Sales and Marketing to General Manager and finally to COO it has been an interesting ride. Time to make the next step. I wish all my friends at Metro the best.

What is the future of media communication?

Think back 10 years ago.  How was video used?  I remember VHS tapes and tube televisions.  To get your video out you needed to ship a tape (or maybe a DVD if you were lucky) to someone for them to watch.  Quality video over the internet was not possible.  Could we have guessed then where we would be now with HD video over the internet and mobile video?  My question for you is where will we be 10 years from now?   Looking forward to the conversation!

Video Production in Virginia

Virginia has a lot to offer to anyone thinking about producing a video or film.  To start, Virginia is home to a wide variety of location options;  whether you are looking for a turn of the century setting for your production or a modern feel, it’s all right here in Virginia.   It goes without saying that the natural beauty of the state makes it a great location for just about any type of outdoor shooting, and quite a few big name directors seem to agree.  Virginia has been home to many large productions, including War of the Worlds, John Adams, Hannibal, and most recently, Lincoln.  In addition to the variety of locations, Virginia is also home to a great number of production resources.  From freelance crews and small independent production companies to full service studios and large production companies, Virginia truly has it all.  On any given day around Virginia, you will find a number of high end broadcast commercials, corporate training videos, and web videos in production.  With Virginia’s proximity to Washington, D.C. and the decreased cost of production outside the beltway, producing your video in Virginia is a fantastic option.
